During my time working for the Southbank Collective in London, I had the incredible opportunity to meet and portray a number of Alumni's from LSBU and sit in on interviews. As such I was privy to incredible wisdom being shared and observing a variety of people that have achieved incredible things in their lifetimes.

Edna Adan Ismail is a renowned Somali nurse, midwife, and women’s rights advocate, best known for founding the Edna Adan University Hospital in Somalia. Her efforts to improve healthcare and empower women have earned her global recognition, including the World Health Organization’s Global Health Leadership Award.

As an alumna of London South Bank University, Edna further developed her expertise, which she has used to make a lasting impact on Somali healthcare. When I met her, she was calm, wise, and inspiring—qualities that reflect her remarkable life’s work.

Ashley Facey-Thompson is an accomplished professional tennis player known for his strong performances on the ATP and ITF circuits. With a passion for the sport and a commitment to excellence, Ashley has made a name for himself in the competitive world of tennis. He is a proud alumnus of London South Bank University (LSBU), where his journey was shaped both academically and athletically.

When I met Ashley, he was confident and charming, exuding a sense of determination and grace that reflects his professional success.

Michael Le is a highly respected entrepreneur and innovator with a diverse background in technology and business development. His passion for creating impactful solutions has led him to build successful ventures and partnerships across various industries. As an alumnus of London South Bank University (LSBU), Michael credits much of his professional growth to the university's nurturing environment and support. When I met him, he was insightful, driven, and full of positive energy, a true reflection of his impressive career achievements.

Sandra Hibbert is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion with a wealth of experience in leadership roles across various sectors. She has dedicated much of her career to empowering underrepresented communities and promoting positive change. Sandra's work includes key positions in both the public and private sectors, where she has developed strategies to create more inclusive environments in the workplace and beyond.

When I met Sandra, she was warm and witty, leaving a lasting impression with her intelligent insights and personable nature. Her dynamic leadership continues to inspire and drive meaningful change, making her a prominent figure in the diversity and inclusion space. She is an alumna of London South Bank University, where she gained the foundation for her impactful career.

Sandie Okoro is a renowned lawyer, global thought leader, and advocate for diversity and inclusion. With a distinguished career in international banking and law, Sandie has become a powerful voice in promoting equality within the legal and financial sectors. Her leadership extends beyond her professional expertise, as she mentors and supports the next generation of women in business.

When I met Sandie, she was incredibly inspiring, with a clear vision and a remarkable ability to motivate and uplift those around her. She was asked in the interview for a quote for that year’s graduates, and she shared, “The internet is much like the discovery of fire was to humankind, we will have to burn our fingers before we know how to handle it.” Her wisdom and foresight continue to guide future leaders.

Usha Karu is an accomplished professional in strategy and management, with a particular focus on driving innovation and growth across healthcare and education sectors. An alumna of London South Bank University, Usha has built a remarkable career in both the corporate and non-profit sectors, where she has made a significant impact through her leadership and problem-solving skills. Her work is guided by a passion for creating sustainable solutions and fostering inclusive environments.

David Longbottom is an experienced leader in the fields of education and international development. Torie Chilcott is a dynamic entrepreneur and business leader known for her innovative approach to brand development and business strategy.
