Freude.
Einleitungsworte sind schwierig. Ich hab schon immer lieber fotografiert und gefilmt, als Texte verfasst. Das entspricht meiner Denkweise und wie ich die Welt rund um mich empfinde. Gut gewählte Worte sind eine Kunst für sich. Damit malt man Bilder in den Köpfen anderer, die so viel detailreicher und empfindsamer sind, als es ein Foto es jemals sein kann. Naja man kann es trotzdem versuchen Bilder zu schießen, die dieser Kunst nahe kommen.
Deswegen fotografiere ich. Ich laufe durch die Welt und manchmal laufe ich fast über vor lauter Freude daran . Dann versuche ich diese zu teilen.
Das war ursprünglich meine Intention für dieser Bildstrecke. Nur kommt es oft nicht genau so an, wie man es sich vorgestellt hat. Anstatt einer Serie über die kleinen Freuden im Leben, entstand ein Fotobuch voll Dankbarkeit für die Menschen, die mir, vor allem in den letzten Monaten, so viel Freude beschert haben. Ich habe bis vor einem halben Jahr noch in London gelebt und dort auch Fotografie studiert. Mein Abschlussprojekt war damals ein Fotobuch namens „im Hals der Flasche", das grob zusammengefasst von Berührungssinn und Empfindungen handelt. Als ich begann, diese Bildstrecke aus bereits angesammeltem Material zusammenzufügen, wurde mir klar, wie sehr sie thematisch an mein letztes Projekt andockte. Eine Fotobuch-Reihe wurde geboren.
Sie heist „Very Basic Tools". Ein jedes Band soll eines der meiner Meinung nach wichtigsten Werkzeuge für ein glückliches Leben thematisierten:
Touch/„Im Hals Der Flasche" (Berührung/Interaktion/Empfindung), Joy/„Alter Wo Ist der Spaß" (Freude), Time/„Der Zeitreisende" (Zeit).

Joy.
Writing introductions is difficult. I've always preferred to take photos and film rather than write texts. It corresponds to my way of thinking and how I feel about the world around me. Well-chosen words are an art in themselves. You use it to paint pictures in the minds of others that are so much more detailed and sensitive than a photo can ever be. Well, you can still try to take pictures that come close to this art form.
That's why I take pictures. I run around the world and sometimes I almost overflow with joy. Then I try to share it.
That was my initial intention for this series of photos. But as ever so often things don't work out exactly as you imagined. Instead of a series about the little joys in life, I created a photobook full of gratitude for the people who have given me so much joy, especially in the last few months. I lived and studied photography in London up until about a year ago. My final project at the time was a photo book called "In the Neck of the Bottle", which to put it simply, was about the sense of touch and both physical and emotional sensations. When I began to put together this series of pictures on the subject of joy from accumulated material, it became clear to me how it was thematically linked to my last project and a photo book trilogy was born.
It's called "Very Basic Tools". Each volume addresses one of the most important tools for a happy life in my opinion:
Touch / "In the neck of the bottle" (touch / interaction / sensation), Joy / “Where’s the fun at” (joy),Time / “The Time Traveler” (time).
